The Who Review's First Birthday Celebration!

Photobucket

Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us, happy birthday dear Who Review, happy birthday to us!

Yes, precisely a year ago today, a Tuesday as the calendar reminds me correctly, I made the decision to create a blogspot celebrating my new-found joy of reviewing my most favourite of shows. In fact, it was two occasions that finalized the deal… One of my friends, who usually prefers to remain anonymous in such posts as these, started their own review of the show yet failed to post up more than a few paragraphs of the first episode of Series Five. I felt that I could do better, it has to be admitted, but also felt like a traitor; starting my own review blog so soon after they started theirs. But it wasn’t until a gathering of family clan, when it was suggested by more than one person that my views, which for a few weeks had been placed upon Facebook, be placed upon a site ready and waiting and thusly, the Who Review was born!

Well, the Who Review Plus, to be precise; the blogsite ‘The Who Review’ was taken by a fellow Whovian, who too seemed to lack in creativity and regularity. Back then images upon my site were few and reviews were barely a paragraph long, but it took only a few weeks before a proper style was developed, and by the end of the Fifth Who series reviews were lengthy and informative, pictures a-many. Which is where about the site has remained, my personal style of typing forever adapting and changing, making each review seem newer, fresher and in one word; fantastic. Of course, without you the readers, there would hardly be a point in typing up my views, and although there are barely less than twenty of you at the most (two or three close friends and numerous family members :P ), I appreciate every single one of you, so thank you! You’ve made a year seem like one healthy, fun, enjoyable week!

Right, now that’s done, emotional time over, it has to be announced that the extended timespan for submissions of your Birthday Competition Reviews is officially over! Although submissions were sadly weak, I realise that we are in the middle of exam season and the time of the year that many people are overly busy with other personal stuff, which is why I have decided to unofficially announce yet another one! Same stuff as before, but submission for extremely late August, to celebrate the second half of Series Six of Who coming back to television screens! Submission will not be accepted though until June the 5th, once Part One of Series Six is finished, which is when the official announcement will be posted.

Finally, the winner of this birthday competition will not be announced until much later today, but the winner has already been decided, oh yes, and as a teaser, all I can reveal is this one quote: “Lots of planets have a North!” You know who you are, and congratulations, but the official announcement, plus the complete review will be up, as mentioned, later in the day.

Thank you, once again, to everyone who entered, and do not despair, your own reviews may indeed be posted up at a later date. There is a lot of time between Parts One and Two of Who after all…
