After millions of entries (…three), an extended deadline (…so the third could arrive) and a tough decision (now that IS true!), the winner can finally be announced, but first, may I congratulate Angela, Richard and Jack for entering the competition announced mere weeks ago, all three entries were simply spectacular and definitely unique, it honestly was hard to make the decision, but after finally gritting down, my final decision was made only last night.
So now, with the greatest pleasure I have to announce that Jack Painter won the first ever Who Review competition! A massive congratulations Jack! Now, before everyone can get down to read his stunning review of one special man, I have to announce that, due to the poor amount of reviews posted in, and with the knowledge that this definitely wasn’t the right time of year to do this sort of thing, it has been decided that from the Sunday the 5th of June all the way to Saturday the 3rd of September, the ‘lines’ are back open! That’s right, if you couldn’t get a review done within the 2/3 week limit given last time, how does three months sound? Now you can submit as many reviews as possible, and the same basic principles apply as laid out for this birthday competition, but please do NOT email them to me until the 5th of June as I won’t be accepting any until then. A more official announcement will be made nearer the time of course.
Anywho! Back to this particular post; once again a congratulations is in order for Jack, and for those wishing to see the man’s winning review, wait no more…

As part of this competition I have decided to review the three doctors from the revived series of Doctor who on their pros and cons, their best quotes, and the best and worst episode. I will then give them a rating out of 10.
Ninth Doctor – Christopher Eccleston
Pros – Very good actor, personality suited well the backstory between the Movie and the start of series 1
Negatives – Didn’t see enough of him (only in 13 episodes), not as fun as the other two doctors
Best Quote – “Lots of planets have a North”
Best Episode - The Doctor Dances (Series 1)
Best Episode of the first series, good storyline, good acting, first appearance of Captain Jack Harkness, very good original antagonists (Are you my Mummy?)
Worst Episode - Boom Town (Series 1)
A pretty pointless episode, not a lot happened that effected the overall story arc, was slow paced, had an antagonist who I didn’t particularly care about and didn’t really fear (a big old green thing which you can kill with vinegar isn’t that scary) but in its defence, it was sandwiched between The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and the Series Finale
Rating 7.5/10
Tenth Doctor - David Tennant
Pros – A well know actor, very witty and fun personality
Cons – Towards the end got a bit stale, companions falling in love with him got a bit annoying
Best Quote – "Allons-y, Alonso!"
Best Episode – Midnight (Series 4)
Was my second favourite episode of the Tennant era but as my favourite (Blink) didn’t really have the Doctor in the episode so have gone for Midnight. A very clever episode, lots of suspense and tension and an antagonist that you don’t actually see can be terrifying. The acting from Tennant was brilliant especially the exchange between him and Lesley Sharp
Worst Episode – The Next Doctor (Specials)
As the Christmas Special for 2008 you would have expected it to be a lot more special than it was. The storyline was ok but for me will forever be remembered for the simply reason of why did no one notice a Giant Cyberman Robot thing in the Thames.
Rating 9/10
Eleventh Doctor – Matt Smith
Pros – Very good actor, a lot of light and shade in his acting,
Cons – Not as well-known as the previous two doctors
Best Quote – “Amy Pond, there's something you'd better understand about me cause it's important, and one day your life may depend on it: I am definitely a mad man with a box!”
Best Episode – Vincent and the Doctor
A very good episode, one of the best since Doctor Who was revived. Brilliant acting again from all the cast, a great storyline and the ending was just brilliant. What was also nice was that when I saw the episode titles and the trailer I thought this would be another boring filler episode but boy was I wrong.
Worst Episode – Victory of the Daleks
First of all don’t have a major problem with the new design of the Daleks. Yes they may not look as cool as the last Daleks and their colours may make them look like they are made of plasticene but what mainly disappointed me was that this episode seemed to me to only written just so they could introduce the new type of Daleks. Although this episode did have a few brilliant moments (the jammy dodger and a “would you like some tea?”)
Rating 8.5/10

I'd forgotten how good an episode Midnight was. Definitely Tennant's best. I may have to re-watch that one now...
Nice review Jack. :)
